Hey there! Welcome!
I’m Danae – the voice behind the blog – The Homebody House. I was one of those kids whose hobbies included regularly re-decorating my childhood bedroom…for fun! And here I am, several decades later, still doing what I love most: creating spaces I never want to leave. I’m the ultimate homebody and if you are too, then you’ve come to the right place!
In 2015 I started The Homebody House after struggling to love living in a rental apartment that wasn’t mine. The blog helped me document all the ways I could flex my creative muscles in rental friendly ways to make our home exactly what I wanted it to be.
Fast forward to 2016 when we purchased our very first home (a 1970’s condo that was 8 shades of beige) and then in 2017 we had a baby! In 2019 we sold our condo and bought the house we currently reside in. In 2021 we had another baby and as of 2023, we’re very much still in the thick of trying to make this house our home so if you’ve just found us, there’s still plenty left to see!
When we aren’t working our full time jobs outside the home, you can find us right here renovating it, raising mini homebodies, and doing what we’re most passionate about: creating a home we never want to leave. If we’re not at home, you can also find us at Home Depot or Lowes. We’re there a lot too.
