It’s crazy to think that we’re already halfway done with the first month in 2019, but here we are! At the beginning of each year I always like to take a look back at all we accomplished around the house the year before and set some house goals for the year ahead.

2018 House Goals and Reviewing our 2018 House Goals
2019 puts us in an awkward situation when it comes to making house goals since our home is still on the market, but I don’t want that to stop us from moving forward and making progress on the home we currently live in.
Our house goals this year are simple: improve (read: complete) a few of the spaces that have been half finished since we moved in:
Living Room
A new rug and coffee table at the end of 2018 has the completion of our living room off to a really great start for 2019. Paired with the completion of our built-ins in 2017, I’m planning a photo grid above the couch and a few other small details to really finish off the space.
Dining Room
An area that’s been on the radar for several years but one we’ve never put much time and attention into. I’m hoping to get some furniture better suited for the space (a round dining table) and maybe trim out the window and ditch the curtains for a cleaner look.
Master Bedroomย
Our master bedroom has come a long way since moving in but like the living room, it still needs a few details: trimming out the window, refreshed bedding, and doing something about the blank wall opposite the bed that you never see. If you aren’t already catching the drift, 2019 is all about small tweaks to take our most used spaces over the finish line.
Whole House Organization
We made major headway organizing most of the closets and cabinets before we listed the house for sale but there’s still a few more areas that need a little more attention: pantry, refrigerator, master bathroom vanity, and master bedroom closets – I’m looking at you!
That rounds up our 2019 house goals list – what are you hoping to achieve in the new year?
