All the Before + Afters of our First Home

Everyone loves a good before & after, right?! Well…I learned early on in the renovation stages of our first home that getting to the AFTER can take a while. I know first hand what it feels like to excitedly jump into a project only to wake up the next day and feel like you made things worse and not actually better. It can certainly be frustrating. Taking photos each step of the way really helped us see the light at the end of some very dark renovation tunnels because when you’re able to look back and see actual progress, it gives you the motivation to keep going even if it feels like the end is nowhere in sight.

So today I thought it would be fun to see some instant before & after gratification. We put a lot of heart and sweat into our first home and after 3 years of hard work, we were happy to see just how much each space had changed in a short amount of time.

We never quite finished all our big lofty goals for the house, but I’m pretty proud of where it ended up. Let’s take a look at where we started, and where we left it:
